Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed
by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.

In approximately one week I will be on an airplane headed to Taiwan, then to Bangkok, then a 10 hr bus ride to the site which I will be doing my orientation training.
Tomorrow, officially marks my last day working at Cisco's Childcare center, and even though I'm sad to have to be leaving all the cute babies which I've gotten to know over the past 3 months I'm definitely ready to head on to my new adventure!
In this last week in the US I'll finally get a chance to pack my bags which I have been putting off since it seems too overhelming of an idea of putting everything I need in the next year in a backpack. Along with packing, I have a surprise visit to the dentist to have some last minute wisdom teeth pulled (yah!). Spending some quality time with my lovely doggy Holly (and I guess my parents) will top the list!
Opps, I guess I should have a little more of an introduction and a bit about why I have a blog now. Welcome all that read this! For those of you who have not been updated on my current life plan, I'm venturing over to northeastern Thailand for the next year to be a volunteer english teacher with an organization called Worldteach (see placement profile tab at top for more detailed info ). After finishing up my degree at Cal Poly I knew I was ready for an experience where I'd really be able to put all that I've learned in the past 4 years along with my training with children into practice and actually do something. Education for all seems to be the solution to almost any of our current global problems and is something I'm passionately an advocate for. Within the next year I hope to gain more classroom experience as a teacher as well as instill hope and a wider perspective and opportunity of what the world can offer these children in Thailand who have probably rarely been outside their village boarders.
